President & CEO

Anne Haines Yatskowitz

Anne co-founded ACCION New Mexico in 1994. She is responsible for overall program oversight, staff supervision, fiscal management and board development, among other duties.

Prior to founding ACCION New Mexico, Anne served as the marketing and program director for the Micro Industry Credit Rural Organization of Project PPEP in Arizona.

Anne received her bachelor's degree from Wesleyan University in Connecticut and a master's degree in management from the Atkinson Graduate School of Management at Willamette University in Oregon.

Among the many honors she has received, the New Mexico Business Weekly named Anne among the state's top ten Women of Influence in 2006 and one of the state's top Power Brokers in 2005. She is a past recipient of the Minority Business Advocate of the Year Award from the U.S. Department of Commerce’s Minority Business Development Agency for an 11-state region. She was also named the U.S. Small Business Administration's Financial Services Advocate of the Year in 1996.

Marisa's responsibilities include loan underwriting, portfolio quality and organizational oversight, donor support, recruitment, and staff training. Marisa has been a member of the ACCION New Mexico team since 1996.

Marisa received her master's degree in public affairs from Princeton University's Woodrow Wilson School of Public and International Affairs in 1996. She earned her undergraduate degree in political science from the University of New Mexico, graduating summa cum laude.

In 2005, the New Mexico Business Weekly named Marisa among the top "40 Under 40" business figures in the state. The U.S. Small Business Administration honored Marisa with the New Mexico Financial Services Advocate of the Year Award in 1999. Marisa is a board member of the Association for Enterprise Opportunity (AEO), a national association of over 400 microenterprise development programs in the United States.

Greg brings 20 years of financial and accounting experience to ACCION New Mexico. Prior to joining the staff at ACCION, Greg worked for McKee Wallwork Henderson, LLC for five and a half years as finance director, where he also managed human resources and information technology.

Greg has a bachelor's of science degree in accounting from Northern Arizona University and worked toward an MBA at the Indian Institute of Management in Bangalore, India. His time in India allowed him to learn the languages of Tamil and Kannada. Greg is also fluent in Spanish.

 
Vice President of Advancement

Lynn brings 20 years of fundraising experience to ACCION New Mexico. Most recently, she served as director of advancement at the Bosque School where she was in charge of fundraising and public affairs for almost six years. There, she led efforts to raise more than $12 million toward annual and capital projects, which fueled significant progress in the school’s growth and development.

Lynn is past president of the New Mexico Association of Fundraising Professionals and was awarded the Outstanding Fundraising Professional for New Mexico in 2003. She is a co-chair for the United Way, supporting Loaned Executive recruitment and training, and she and her husband, Craig, are Alexis de Toqueville Society contributors. They are also board members for the Future Fund, a young philanthropists group founded through the Albuquerque Community Foundation.

Named as one of the state's top Power Brokers by the New Mexico Business Weekly, Lynn is a member of both the Wells Fargo Bank Leadership Council and the Regional Council of the National Jewish Hospital in Denver.

The Albuquerque native has a bachelor's degree in International Relations from Colgate University and a master's degree in International Management from the American Graduate School of International Management.

 
Director of Lending and Client Service

Leslie is responsible for outstanding program performance and oversees ACCION’s lending and customer service activities.

She joined the ACCION team in 2005 as communication manager and has also served as director of communications and team excellence. Prior to ACCION, the native of Albuquerque worked as a reporter and editor for the Associated Press in Albuquerque. Her investigative work earned national recognition from the Associated Press Managing Editors in 2004 as a runner-up for the John L. Dougherty Award. She began her professional journalism career at The Albuquerque Tribune, where she was nominated in 2001 by Tribune senior editors for a Pulitzer Prize. She has also written for the Albuquerque Journal and been a contributor to Reuters, The Dallas Morning News and The New York Times.

Leslie is currently pursuing her MBA at the University of New Mexico’s Anderson Schools of Management. She received her bachelor’s from UNM in journalism and political science, graduating summa cum laude. She has also served as a Peace Corps volunteer in El Salvador, working on community development efforts, and is fluent in Spanish.

As director of business development, Julie is developing new products and programs that allow ACCION to expand and enhance its service to clients. She has also overseen a pilot project exploring market-driven product expansion through ACCION's impressive bank partner network.

Julie brings to ACCION extensive experience in marketing, product management, contract negotiations and process development. Her work as a consultant has taken her across the United States and overseas for assignments at start-ups and telecommunications firms. Those assignments have included work for Qwest, Pacific Bell and Amoco. She holds a master's degree in business administration from Loyola University.

Andrea began her career with ACCION New Mexico in 1999. Andrea's responsibilities include donor relationship management, grant compliance management and oversight of grant proposal submissions. Andrea also performs research and analysis on ACCION’s performance and impact. She works remotely from her home in Pennsylvania.

Andrea has worked for the New Mexico Association of Food Banks and received her master of arts in Latin American studies in 1999 from the University of New Mexico. While in graduate school, Andrea volunteered at the Martineztown House of Neighborly Services. She received her bachelor of arts in anthropology and Hispanic studies from the University of San Diego, with a summer abroad in Concepción, Chile, through the University of Villanova.

Christine works with loan applicants while conducting outreach activities with a special focus on southeastern New Mexico.

Prior to coming to ACCION, Christine served as area manager for the local affiliate of the American Diabetes Association and senior event and marketing specialist for the Greater Albuquerque Chamber of Commerce. Christine is as a board member for La Colmena, a nonprofit that supports women's self sufficiency. She also works with MANA de Albuquerque, a national Latina organization, and the Archdiocese of Santa Fe's prison ministries program Thresholds.

Fluent in Spanish, Christine received her undergraduate degree in mass communications from St. Mary of the Plains College.

In 2005, the New Mexico Business Weekly named Christine among the top "40 Under 40" young business figures in the state.

Arlene Gabaldon

Arlene works with entrepreneurs, guiding them through ACCION's loan application process and providing financial literacy training.

A native of New Mexico and a grassroots community activist, Arlene was a 2005 recipient of the YWCA Women on the Move Award and received the 1998 South Valley Outstanding Citizens Award. Her volunteer activities have included the Sambrano Monitoring Committee, the Southwest Educational Development Laboratories (SEDL), Rio Grande Cluster of Albuquerque Public Schools, the Mesa Verde Community Center and her church.

Prior to ACCION New Mexico, Arlene was program coordinator for New Mexico First and also worked as president/owner of The Final Word, a home-based computer business.

Carmen Gloria is an ambassador for ACCION's lending program, working with clients and in the community. Before joining the ACCION team, the native of Chile worked as a business development manager in the janitorial industry. In Santiago, Chile, she studied business administration at Instituto ICARE, basic computing at Instituto de Computacion and executive secretarial skills at Instituto de Secretariado INSEC.

Working with entrepreneurs in the northwest region of New Mexico, Cathy guides applicants through ACCION's loan application process and provides any needed resources to businesses for financial literacy and training.

Cathy has more than 15 years of business experience in telecom, financial services and healthcare industries in marketing, sales and customer service capacities. She has an MBA from the Kellogg Graduate School of Management at Northwestern University. She has been an active volunteer in the Albuquerque community for more than 5 years.

Anthony is responsible for developing new client relationships as well as maintaining and servicing existing ACCION clients in northeastern New Mexico.

Raised in Anton Chico, New Mexico, Anthony served in the United States Navy as Intelligence Analyst for five years. He is a cum laude graduate from New Mexico Highlands University with a bachelor's degree in business management and business marketing.

 
Portfolio Quality Supervisor

Isela oversees the organization’s portfolio and related assets to ensure that they are adequately protected. She responds to client questions regarding loan payment, loan balance, and collateral matters.

Before coming to ACCION, Isela worked in the credit department at Cardinal Health, focusing on auditing duties. She also had an 11-year career in banking, receiving several certificates from the American Institute of Banking.

She has an Administrative Assistant Diploma from the International Business College in Las Cruces and attended Metropolitan College in Denver, Colo.

Fran brings more than two decades of experience in asset recovery and account management to ACCION New Mexico. As a senior member of the portfolio quality team, she oversees the organization's legal collection efforts, including systems creation, implementation and staff training.

Metta is the newest member of the ACCION Team. With over 2 years of experience as a credit specialist at Bank of Albuquerque, Metta brings to ACCION a thorough understanding of all aspects of banking including consumer and commercial areas and the computer programs that create, maintain and monitor products.

Before joining ACCION as a staff member, Metta was a member of the Take ACCION Task Force, an innovative volunteer group of bankers and business development specialists who aid ACCION in the decision making process for loans of $50,000 or more.

As a member of ACCION's operations team, Lidia's responsibilities include many of the organization's accounting functions and the processing of incoming contributions.

Lidia is a recent graduate of the University of New Mexico's Anderson Schools of Management, where she completed her bachelor's degree in business with a concentration in financial management. She also holds associate degrees in financial services and pre-management from Central New Mexico Community College.

Most recently, Lidia worked at Bank of the West, where she completed a summer internship at the bank's Business Banking Center. Previously, she had a six-year career as a patient care advocate for a mail-order pharmaceutical company. A native of Baje de Agua in the Mexican state of Chihuahua, Lidia is bilingual in English and Spanish.

Among Megen's responsibilities, she manages ACCION's accounts payable, produces loan documents and oversees the quality control of loan files to ensure accuracy and completeness.

She brings more than five years of retail sales experience to ACCION, most recently working as the seasonal ticketing manager for the House of Blues in Denver, Colo.

Megen completed the Walt Disney World College Internship Program and is an honors graduate of Eastern New Mexico University at Roswell, where she received her associate's degree in university studies.

 
Loan Processor

As loan processor, Yolanda ensures that proper documentation is completed for ACCION loans, ensuring the organization's position is secure and that loan files are complete and accurate. She also provides customer service support to the lending team.

Before joining ACCION, Yolanda worked for Excel Staffing. She also has customer service experience at JC Penny and the U.S. Postal Service. Prior to that, Yolanda worked for more than 10 years in the medical industry as a medical review officer and front office assistant. She is bilingual (English/Spanish).

Yolanda is also studying general course work at Central New Mexico Community College.

Gina supports the vice president of advancement in the management of fundraising activities, donor relations, communications and organizational stewardship.

Before joining the ACCION team, Gina was a stay-at-home mother and small business owner. She also previously provided executive-level administrative support for Bowlin Travel Centers, Inc. Gina is an active volunteer and a resident of Albuquerque for over twelve years. She has a bachelor’s in journalism from the University of Georgia.

As a volunteer, Roney serves as a mentor for the ACCION team to support client success.

Apart from his role at ACCION, Roney also works as a regional representative for Kansas City-based Commerce Bank. A certified instructor for the American Institute of Banking (AIB) and a contributing editor for the AIB textbook BankCard Business, Roney previously served as lending director for ACCION.
